Lovely Abbey, nice afternoon

Beautiful Abbey. We visited on the weekend of the flower festival (the first weekend of May each year I think) and there were activities and markets in the Abbey. The flower markets were extraordinary and the boys enjoyed the calligraphy lessons which were available (these were only on as it was the flower festival). The building itself is stunning, the cloister particularly beautiful. There are well tended gardens that by two boys enjoyed wandering through and looking at the flowers and fish in the ponds.
Cafe is expensive and own food is discouraged (ie picnic in the gardens is not allowed) but you can easily take snacks and eat them as you are wandering the gardens.
I'd go if you are in the area as it really is very lovely and worth a few hours of your time.
