The Arktikum is a museum and science centre in Rovaniemi, Finland. There is also Arktikum Café and library to serve the customers.
Great to escape the cold and learn about the Arctic region
We came here on a day when it was about -25c so we war very glad to find a warm and dry place to spend a few hours! The walk from the centre of town is about 10-15 minutes and quite easy. We had toboggans and so used them to drag the kids behind us! The centre itself is very nice. The exhibitions are well set up and engaging for children. There is a exhibition that shows what the Northern Lights are like if you haven;t been able to see them during your stay. I thought was OK, but not great. Very educational for the kids about how people survive in the Arctic and the animals etc. Great way to spend a few hours and free entry for under 7's which I though was very good. We didn't use the cafe.
