Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse
Great view from the top
Visited her with 5 kids aged 6-10. There are 2 tours, one that includes only the grounds and the other that includes the grounds and climbing the lighthouse to the top. We weren't sure whether the kids would get the value from the more expensive tour to the top but decided to give it a crack anyway...it is the tallest mainland lighthouse in Australia after all! You get headsets for the part of the tour around the grounds. The kids seem interested in them but they weren't aimed at kids and certainly below 6 years wouldn't get much from them. We enjoyed them though. Kids under 4 can't climb the lighthouse but up we headed with all our crew. The kids liked it a lot, I was terrified - particularly at the top! But it was interesting to see the view of where the 2 oceans meet and the view from the top was amazing. Overall I'd recommend this. Nice cafe available for coffee, with expensive ice creams to tempt children!
