Pont du Gard
I've been to the Pont 3 times now as I'm living in Provence. We love it. The bridge itself is awe inspiring, and amazing to think they built that 2000 years ago! But frankly, for the kids under 10, the bridge itself is not that interesting. But that is well and truly made up for by the wide open spaces, playgrounds and special kids museum. We take our kids scooters every time as the walk to the Pont is about 300-400 metres and so for young ones you will need a pram but there are excellent well sealed paths all the way there, perfect for scooters and prams. Take a picnic and enjoy on the bank of the river admiring the bridge. There is a 10 minute movie about the Pont which held the attention of my 5 and 9 year old. The kids museum is really wonderful and helps kids learn what it was like when the Romans lived. There are many activities for the kids to do, really hands on like digging for bones, building mosiacs, visiting the markets and weighing food etc
There is also a museum for the adults which is interesting. I also think the whole thing is well priced at 18 euro for a car (up to 5 people).
An absolute must see in Provence - allow a good half day to enjoy all the activities there.
