Crowded and touristy! Look from a vaporetto

In overcrowded and touristy Venice, this and Saint Mark's square would have to be the most touristy. We walked over the bridge and went under on a vaporetto and my advice is to skip the walk over and just gaze at it from a Vaporetto. It is architecturally attractive but of course holds no interest for kids. When we walked over it, there were just so many overpriced touristy stalls with chinese made rubbish for sale. It's free but only if you can manage to escape without the kids convincing you to buy some piece of memorabilia. Instead, take the vaporetto, enjoy the ride and take some pics as you are going along. Much easier than battling the crowds on the bridge with the kids!!
