Umpherston Sinkhole
Overall rating

Well worth a look

Needs to be seen to realise how big it is!! It's huge, and when you get down to the bottom its really impressive and a good opportunity to teach the kids about how rocks form and how the sinkhole was created. Access is only via steps so make sure you don't take your pram in and we were there in winter so a lot of water dripping from the plants and could be slippery for toddlers if not very stable on their feet.

There is a great area at ground level that has heaps of lawned space with picnic tables, gazebos, public toilets and a few thing to play around on. Good spot for a lunch break.

I suspect it could get busy in summer but we had it all to ourselves in winter.
